RODEO RIDING WILD LLAMA INTO THE BOLIVIAN SUNSET

🇧🇴 Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

I was on a trip of a lifetime in South America. I meet a very fun bunch of Australian traveller’s, all country boys from Central Queensland.

We all decided to do the 4-day trip across the salt flats in Bolivia. We loaded up on supplies i.e. Bottles of whiskey, beers and marching powder let’s just say we had a long trip ahead of us.

We also had one lucky lady from Eastern Europe on our tour and wow wasn’t she in for a ride of a lifetime having never met too many Australians.

To give you an idea we are all packed into a 4wd full of whiskey, beers, cocaine and music, driven by one of the local Bolivianos. The driver Carlos let’s all of us have as much fun as we wanted on the trip, he just chewed cocaine leaves and drank whiskey the whole time and always had a great smile on he’s face.

At one of the stops we stayed at a hotel made out of salt and outside of the hotel was a heard of wild llamas. The boys and I were loaded full of whiskey mixed with skittles – we called it skittle piss.

One of the boys bet me to try and ride one of the llamas.

So I hid behind a pile of salt while the boys corralled in the heard. I couldn’t believe it.. one of the big white llamas came really close so I sprung up onto its back clinging onto dear life. I had a pretty good hold of it cause of the thick woolly coat. I straddle this wild animal for a good 5 minutes. It took me far off into the salt flats. It was running wild with its herd & trying to buck me off.

I looked back and the hotel was getting further and further way so I decided to let go and set him free. When I was walking back I could hear all the boys and staff at the hotel laughing and crying cause it’s was fucking funny! When I got back the laughter and good time continue into the afternoon and night.

I have never made a good bull rider but can say I mastered the llama.
